Artificial meat. What is it?
Test tube meat grown in a nutrient environment under laboratory conditions is called artificial or cultured meat. Such a product has long been made from soy and pea protein, fish protein, insect protein, and not so long ago from animal cells and even from human cells.

1. Most startups choose to grow artificial meat from animal cells.
Meat products are important in human nutrition as sources of animal protein, iron, zinc, B vitamins (B1, B2, B6, PP). Meat is the only food source of vitamin B12. From plant products, it is found only in seaweed.
Absolutely painless, under local anesthesia, a small amount of connective tissue (the basis from which cells are grown), a little muscle tissue (to obtain cells capable of dividing and producing muscle tissue) and adipose tissue (useful for giving the final product the necessary structure and juiciness).
To support the growth and division of cells, the samples are placed in a nutrient environment, which is a gel consisting of amino acids, vitamins, salts, glucose and other components. In such a cultured environment, cells begin to divide exponentially, and muscle tissue begins to grow.
Without GMO, without the use of antibiotics, in ideal sterile conditions, under the strict supervision of specialists, we get real, healthy, tasty, fresh meat, which is no different from the original sample.
It is not surprising that the developers of this technology have won the interest of investors from all over the world.
2. Plant-based meat substitutes.
Soy protein has been replaced by the era of pea protein. In 2009, a small American startup started producing an alternative method of meat production. At the moment, it has become the largest producer of vegetable meat. And today the company supplies chicken, pork and beef based on pea protein isolate to dozens of countries around the world. Believe me, it cannot be distinguished from real meat. Perfect taste and texture! Besides vegans and vegetarians, meat-eaters also did not refuse to try an alternative product.
In 2020, sales of plant-based meat increased by 264%, it was facilitated by the pandemic, when many consumers were afraid of getting infected from animals and were affected by problems with the supply of traditional meat (meat processing plants stopped work due to a massive coronavirus disease among employees).
3. Meat from human cells.
In addition to the innovations already known to us, a group of American scientists and designers have created meat grown from human cells. In 2020, a kit was introduced to create meat from human cells. And yes, its developer does not consider it cannibalism. The grown steak is called Ouroboros, which means a snake biting its own tail, and is an ancient symbol of eternity and the cyclical nature of life.
The main advantage of this method of growing meat is that you can do it without leaving your home. All you need is your own cells, which can be collected from the inner surface of the cheek, and expired donor blood (which is disposed of by doctors as unnecessary). Three months of waiting and a small piece of meat will be ready. At the same time, your costs are minimal and no one is hurt.
However, the developers are not going to replicate such sets for sale. They emphasize that this project is ironic in many ways. Now it is on display at exhibitions so that their visitors can reflect on existing problems. But who knows, what if the idea will find a response in the hearts of eco-activists?
The team of scientists and developers of Meatex are confident that it is impossible to completely replace real meat with “something similar”. Meatex technology makes it possible to make real, fresh, healthy and safe meat from several cells of an animal (cow, chicken, etc.). At the same time, all its taste properties will be preserved and you can be 100% sure that not a single animal is harmed in this case. Investing in cutting edge Meatex technology will transform the food industry and boost your assets exponentially.
